The Inntravel Guide to Cycling Holidays
Our enjoyable routes cater for all levels, so you will find something for you whether you enjoy longer rides, love short cycles in the hills or just pedal occasionally to the local shops. Some routes offer more challenges than others, so we grade them to help you decide which is best for you:
• Grade 1 Easy for all – mainly flat, some gentle ascents
• Grade 1-2 Fairly easy – occasional uphill sections
• Grade 2 Moderate – some longer, steady climbs, and longer days
• Grade 2-3 Fairly strenuous – frequent ascents and descents
• Grade 3 Strenuous – long, challenging days (none in our programme, yet!)
Once you have decided on the grade to suit you, you should choose the type of scenery you are interested in: river valleys, coast, timeless countryside or beautiful towns and villages.
We also list the best holidays to choose if you wish to explore off the main tourist trail, discover a region with great gastronomic traditions, visit lots of cultural riches along the route, stay in high-quality hotels or seek out atmospheric rural retreats.
We've colour-coded the tables by country for ease of use.
