The Malt House, Broad Campden
For several of its four centuries, this exquisite building was the malt house in Broad Campden, a golden stone Cotswold village which, says Judi Wilkes, the owner, is ‘the quintessence of English understatement’ and just a stroll away from Chipping Campden (see above). The focus of the Malt House is a giant croquet lawn whose far edge ramps down to a half-hidden brook and rises up the far hill as a newly planted orchard. The house itself is the highlight, though, with uniquely individual bedrooms (we include superior, king-sized doubles) and elegant living areas with beautiful furniture and cosy log fires. Judi serves up delicious breakfasts and a wonderfully warm welcome.

Horse & Groom, Bourton-on-the-Hill
A listed Georgian building of classic Cotswold stone, the Horse & Groom surveys the beautiful village of Bourton-on-Hill from its lofty perch on a bend in the road. Owned by two friendly and enthusiastic brothers, Tom and Will Greenstock, the inn offers tempting lunchtime and evening menus; a stylish, contemporary feel and the warmest of welcomes. There are regularly changing local ales and, upstairs, a handful of beautiful and individually styled bedrooms.

Lower Brook House, Blockley
If there is a perfect Cotswold village, then Blockley may be it - wisteria-covered stone cottages, a babbling brook and the peace and quiet of a bygone era. Lower Brook House is in the very heart of the village, and combines the very best of authentic hospitality with the warmth of a shared home. Owners Julian and Anna Ebbutt have created a real gem out of this 17th-century house, from the log fires, beamed rooms and flagstone floors to the country cottage garden and imaginative evening menus in the intimate restaurant.

To enable you to enjoy your weekend to the full, and in true Inntravel style, we have selected five circular walks for our Discovery Weekend customers. Four of the walks take in the idyllic scenery of the northern Cotswolds and are within easy reach of the accommodation options we have picked, while the fifth is an interesting exploration of the lesser-known Warwickshire countryside near the Heritage Motor Centre itself.
Full route notes and mapping will be provided along with your booking confirmation, but a brief flavour of the walks is shown below:
Circuit from Hidcote Gardens along the Cotswold Way (16km)
From Hidcote, a walk along green lanes and paths to the historic town of Chipping Campden, then along footpaths to Ebrington with a return via bridleways to Hidcote.
Broad Campden to Blockley Circuit (12km)
A circular walk over the hills and woods around Broad Campden and Blockley, with delightful views all round.
Mickleton Loop (8km)
An easy introduction to the Cotswolds, having virtually 360-degree views from every point.
Snowshill & Broadway (12km)
Starting from the remote Cotswolds village of Snowshill, this route ascends an escarpment with superb views before descending into Broadway. The route climbs again to Broadway Tower, with more views, before returning to Snowshill.
Bishop’s Itchington Circular (11km)
A gentle walk amid splendid Warwickshire countryside with wonderful views over a beautiful landscape, the Dassett Hills often providing distant shapely contours. Bishop's Itchington is a sizeable village with small stores and several pubs.
All walks are situated amid beautiful walking country in the northern Cotswolds and, thanks to our partners at walkingworld.com, we are able to include walking notes for several rewarding routes within the area.
